Welcome to CleanerForMac! This app helps you analyze storage, clean caches and logs, uninstall apps, and monitor performance on your Mac. All operations run locally on your device. If you need help, see the FAQ below or contact us.
Full Disk Access is needed to scan and clean caches, logs, and app data in your user folders. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access, click “+” to add CleanerForMac (or the MacCleaner.app path shown in the app), turn it on, then quit the app completely (⌘Q) and reopen it. You can check permission status in Settings inside the app.
Full Disk Access applies to a specific .app path, not just the app name. If you run from Xcode, add the MacCleaner.app path for that build (shown in the app). After granting access, quit with ⌘Q and reopen. If it still fails, remove old entries in the list and add the path again.
Scan results are estimates to help you find cleanable items. “System Data” includes usage that cannot be itemized, so totals may be lower than in System Settings. Use System Settings as the reference and verify important files before cleaning.
Cleanup and uninstall move files to the Trash; they are not erased immediately. You can restore them until you empty the Trash. Back up important data before cleaning.
Quit the app completely (⌘Q) first, then use Uninstall Apps → Clean data. Items marked “Risky” may include chat history or state databases and may not be recoverable. Select carefully.
Open Settings in the sidebar, then choose Follow System or a specific language under Interface Language (Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, and more). Changes apply immediately.
Open Performance Monitor and tap Start. Adjust the refresh interval in Settings, or enable “Start monitoring when opening the page.” If data still does not appear, restart the app and try again.
